After long anticipation, I finally received GREEN, the fourth installation in a series. Ted claims that GREEN can be read first or last. That the four books work seamlessly together. After reading GREEN as the last of the books (BLACK, RED, and WHITE) I whole-heartedly agree! GREEN takes us back to a familiar story, one with Thomas Hunter from the past still living in the future and still the infamous leader of the Circle. But things are not as happy as they once were. There is a fraction in the Circle and its voice is Thomas’ son, Samuel. Members of the Circle find themselves doubting Elyon and his return. It has been 10 years since Elyon promised he would come back for them, and ten years they have remained a peaceful people. Meanwhile, the Horde is hunting the Circle and killing them. Samuel doubts his faith in Elyon and in his father. In a leap of faith and an opportunity to prevent the circle from breaking apart, Thomas offers a challenge to the Horde and to Ba’el, the priest of the evil Teeleh. In the middle of the desert, a showdown between the power of Elyon and Teeleh, the winner takes all. The challenge threatens the relationship between Thomas and Samuel, and leads to Samuel leaving the circle to join with the enemy of the Horde for battle. GREEN ends with an apocalyptic battle, where good and evil battle for the souls of men. GREEN is neither the beginning nor the end of the story, but merely a part of the circle of life. I highly recommend reading GREEN. But where you begin the adventure is up to you. Either begin with BLACK or GREEN. Either way, the story is worth reading. You won’t want to put this one down!
